Kaiser Law Group celebrates silver anniversary with a Best of Flag win

For 25 years, Dan Kaiser has been more than just an attorney in Flagstaff — he’s been a steadfast advocate, a round-the-clock resource and, now, a Best of Flag winner. This year, the Kaiser Law Group, led by Kaiser, was named the community’s Best Attorney/Law Firm, a recognition that reflects decades of hard work, successful outcomes and a deeply personal approach to practicing law.

Kaiser’s roots run deep in Flagstaff. A graduate of Northern Arizona University, he originally pursued a pre-med track until a criminal justice elective shifted his path entirely. The class sparked a passion for criminal law that felt like a calling. After completing law school in Michigan and gaining experience in Phoenix, the pull of the high country brought him home.

“I’ve always considered Flagstaff my home and a place I wanted to raise my children,” Kaiser said.

This January marks his 25th year practicing law in Flagstaff and northern Arizona — a milestone that underscores the longevity and impact of the firm he leads.

The Kaiser Law Group focuses primarily on criminal defense and personal injury. From motor vehicle accidents and dog bites to workers’ compensation cases, Kaiser handles virtually any case involving injury. His criminal defense practice spans the full spectrum, from minor offenses to major, high-profile cases.

Kaiser attributes the firm’s success to one core principle: unmatched dedication to clients.

“We stay very close to our clients. We answer their calls, we answer their emails,” he said. “I answer my phone in the middle of the night all the time. I’m available 24 hours a day for my clients, whenever they need me.”

Such accessibility is uncommon and intentional. Kaiser said the reward isn’t in the notoriety of a case but in helping people navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Whether defending a client in a criminal matter or fighting to recover damages after an injury, Kaiser and his team have secured extraordinary results and millions of dollars for local residents.

His client-focused approach begins with taking the time to fully understand each person’s circumstances.

“I meet with my clients multiple times to get a good feel for their situation, their needs, what they’re looking for as a result, and try to tailor how we are handling their case to meet those needs,” he explained.

This foundation ensures that his legal advocacy is not only effective but personal and responsive. The goal, he said, is to keep clients informed and confident that the firm is doing everything possible on their behalf.

Winning Best of Flag carries special meaning for Kaiser. Beyond validating the firm’s legal work, the award highlights his commitment to giving back to the community. He supports numerous local organizations, including previously serving on the board of the Shadows Foundation, supporting the Special Olympics golf team and Co-chairman of Flagstaff Ducks Unlimited. He also provides financial support to Flagstaff Catholic Charities, Coconino CASA for kids, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Flagstaff, Jewish Family and Social Services and the Jewish Tuition Organization.

“It’s nice to receive some recognition,” Kaiser said, though he emphasizes that his community involvement comes from a belief that “it’s important to give back.” Still, the positive response from local voters made the honor especially gratifying.

Looking ahead, the future of the Kaiser Law Group is a family endeavor. The firm’s current building allows room for expansion, and next summer, Kaiser’s daughter will join the practice as an attorney. Her arrival marks the continuation of the firm’s mission to serve Flagstaff and Coconino County for many years to come with the same dedication Kaiser has shown for 25 years.

Ultimately, Kaiser credits his team and family for the firm’s longevity and success.

“I wouldn’t be here without the people in my office, my staff and my family,” he said. “My staff is absolutely phenomenal in what they do.”

He would like to give a special thanks to his family, “without their support and my wife putting up with long hours and middle of the night calls, I wouldn’t have been able to reach this level of commitment and success in the practice of law.”
